Celebrity sighting of the day!

Central Park is a great place to see celebrities just hanging out, and while there for a leisurely stroll on Sunday, my husband and I heard a familiar voice. It was Hamish Linklater, Matthew from THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE on CBS. He is in Shakespeare in the Park's production of Twelfth Night, and was probably taking a break from rehearsal.

BAM! Emeril LaGasse at Borders

Just saw Chef Emeril LaGasse at Borders Wall St. store in NYC. I was surprised that there weren't that many people there when I arrived an hour early, but he ended up with a good sized crowd by the time he started. It was just a signing, no discussion, so I just met Emeril, shook his hand and got my book signed. I would have enjoyed hearing him speak.

Celebrity sighting of the day is a favorite of my two sons- Curtis Jackson aka Fifty Cent. He is on the scene of his new movie "Twelve", filming on the Upper East Side today.

He's a handsome guy- nice smile too!

OK- this celebrity sighting is a BIG one! I was walking to the Rainbow Hardware store on First Ave. and who walks by me but the Yankee captain himself, Derek Jeter, with another guy. He said hi, but I couldn't get my camera fast enough.

They went into Starbucks and when he came out, I was coming out of the hardware store. He held the door open for a woman coming out of Starbucks behind him. His mother raised a gentleman. I snapped a picture of him walking away from me.

Last night at the New York Philharmonic fundraiser at Avery Fisher Music Hall at Lincoln Center, Rocco DiSpirito walked by husband. I was in the ladies room and missed him.

Celebrity sighting of the day: John Calipari, the new coach of the University of Kentucky men's basketball team.

I can't take credit for this one; while wandering in Little Italy on the way to dinner, my husband saw Calipari with who appeared to be two possible recruits. People were asking him to pose for pictures. If I had known that he had just signed an eight year, $31.65 million dollar coaching deal, I would have asked him to pay for our dinner!
